Alexandre Kalil, Atletico Miniero’s president has today revealed in an interview that The two bitter rivals, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have pulled out from the race to sign the Brazilian ace Bernard and the young prodigy is all set to join Porto.
Bernard has been the subject of intense speculation and rumors in recent weeks as the Brazilian was linked with moves to Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Porto as well as the Premier League giants Arsenal and the newly emerging Tottenham Hotspur.
In recent days, Kalil the president of the Brazilian club revealed that Shakhtar were the only club whom had their bid accepted although there are reports that Porto have moved to wrap up the deal for Ronaldinho’s partner.
His top performances for the club last season made him attract many top clubs and Arsenal were in the hunt and pole position to land the ace, but Arsene Wenger for some unknown reason has pulled out from the deal. It was reported that Bernard’s heart is set on Arsenal as he revealed that he will decide his future after the league final.
His aim was to hit the Brazilian national team which he accomplished during the confederations cup and now he is looking to perform in a top league to catch the selector’s eye more closely.
Arsenal have had a frustrating transfer window as of now and now it’s more of a jolt to their fans after they had Bernard pretty much in their pockets only to be lure away, most probably by Porto.
