Arsenal offer €30m in one single payment to Real Madrid for Gonzalo Higuain [Marca]

Spanish newspaper Marca have confirmed this Sunday morning what has been swirling around the English press in recent days, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made a bid for Gonzalo Higuain. This news comes from an impeccable source as the article is written by Marca scribe and Gonzalo Higuaín’s biographer Ulises Sánchez-Flor. Arsenal have bid 30 million euros for the Argentine striker and are willing to pay it all in one single payment which is hugely rare for an international football transfer. Meanwhile, Juventus have put in a 22 million euro offer and have requested to transfer the money in five payments. Now it appears Real Madrid are in no hurry to sell Higuain. Los Blancos are waiting for Carlo Ancelotti to arrive at the Bernabeu to take over as the new coach. And, although the representatives of Gonzalo Higuain have had two meetings with the Real Madrid hierarchy, urging them to listen to offers, the former River Plate striker has three years of his contract to run in the Spanish capital. Ulises Sánchez-Flor adds that Arsenal are in pole position to sign Higuain with Juventus’ offer not deemed good enough by the Real Madrid board. Arsene Wenger has reportedly set his sights on Gonzalo Higuain as the striker to boost Arsenal’s goal scoring next season. Theo Walcott (16) and Santi Cazorla (12) were their top scorers in 2012/2013. Finally, Sánchez-Flor says Carlo Ancelotti will have the final say on Higuain’s future when he does arrive at Real Madrid from PSG.
