Arsenal to announce four signings on July 1?

Arsenal are expected to formalise the signings of several rumoured new additions when the transfer window opens.

At long last, the transfer window is to finally open. It may have seemed like it already was across Europe, with deals like Mario Gotze to Bayern and Neymar to Barcelona being sanctioned, but the transfers will not officially be ratified until July 1.

This is especially the case with regard to players brought in on Bosman transfers, with contracts due to expire at midnight on June 30. You suspect players such as Andrei Arshavin who has recently admitted his unhappiness at Arsenal ahead of his impending free transfer to Zenit St Petersburg might just be throwing a party to celebrate.

Yaya Sanogo - From Auxerre (free)

Arsenal's deal for Yaya Sanogo is no secret, with the Frenchman recently stating that the excitement at working with Arsene Wenger was a major factor in signing up. He is currently with France's under-20 World Cup squad, but has already completed a medical with the Gunners, and with his contract at Auxerre expiring at midnight on June 30, he is expected to officially become an Arsenal player on July 1.

Dan Crowley - From Aston Villa (compensation to be agreed)

Arsenal have long been linked with snapping up young midfielder Dan Crowley from Aston Villa's youth ranks, the player an international with England's under-17s. Nothing official has come from either club yet, but July 1 could be the day with the transfer window opening. Crowley has predictably been dubbed the 'next Jack Wilshere', which may be a lot of pressure but it also makes the signing that much more interesting. one for the future, Aston Villa are expected to push for a compensation package under Premier League rules for the lost prospect.

Julio Plezeguelo - From Barcelona (free)

Arsenal's signing of Julio Plezeguelo is a 'done deal', and is expected to be officially so when the transfer window opens. Another whizkid snapped up from Barcelona's academy, the 16-year-old centre-back said his goodbyes to former teammates on Twitter last week ahead of confirming his move to London. Another one for the future, he will help bolster the club's youth ranks with more than 10 academy players released this summer.

Jamaal Raage - From Brommapojkarna (free)

Another young prospect, Jamaal Raage is an exciting Swedish forward with Somali heritage who undertook a successful trial with the club last November. The news the 16-year-old will join the Gunnerswas confirmed by his agents last month, with the teenager also admitting in an interview that the move is something 'no-one would turn down'. Raage had also been interesting Manchester United.

Any other business?

Arsenal fans will be crossing their fingers a more major deal will be announced on July 1, namelyGonzalo Higuain. The striker's switch to Arsenal has been in limbo for weeks, with personal terms said to be agreed, but Real Madrid seemingly yet to rubber-stamp the club's offer. It was thought Carlo Ancelotti's installation as manager would see the move go through but so far fans have been kept waiting. With the transfer window officially open on Monday there is renewed hope Arsenal will push through the deal, and offer the extra cash Madrid are reported to be holding out for. Higuain could be the big news for Arsenal on July 1 if all goes to plan.

Andrei Arshavin and Sebastien Squillaci will also officially no longer be Arsenal players from midnight on June 30 and Vito Mannone will leave the club on a free, expected to join Sunderland. Unwanted defender Johan Djourou is claimed to be heading for Hamburg to complete a medical which could also be confirmed.
