Sources reveal that Wenger’s interest has resulted in a positive scenario and Arsenal is pretty close to land Ashley Williams from Swansea.
Arsene has been pretty keen to land the Swansea captain but apparently the deal hit the pause as Wenger is unwilling to pay the desired £12m fee for the center-back despite claiming to have significant amount of money in his transfer muscle.
But as Arsenal reportedly is short of defensive options, Wenger is ready to break the bank for Michael Laudrup’s key player.
As Thomas Vermaelen has suffered with a back injury, Arsenal are left with only two established center-backs Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertasacker with Johan Djourou’s loan move to Hamburg.
Initially it was reported that the deal hit a stall because Arsenal Boss was unwilling to pay the extra £2m with Swansea reported to be demanding £12m, but now Wenger is understood to be paying the full amount for the brightest prospect of the country.

ReplyDeleteIt does not matter as usual , we are hearing this story for more than 10 years , at the moment it does not make sense , he depends on Arsenal sources ( age 14-18 yrs ) and that`s why he does not care , Really I trust him as he has a good experience , but finally we want win a trophy any how , we are waiting Mr.Wenger , when will come this day ???
