Arsenal close in on £19 million La Liga star, as agent meets Wenger [The Sun]

There has been some reports on the Sun website which have claimed Arsenal are set to beat off Juventus and land the services of Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain after boss Arsene Wenger met with the agent and father of the world-class hitman.

Wenger has made it clear that Arsenal want Higuain and that they are prepared to bid £19million for the Argentina international as well as paying him £150,000-a-week. (The Sun)

Higuain is rated as one of the best finishers in the game and there will surely be a lot more talk about where he ends up in the summer window until he finally ends up at his next destination.

So it will be very interesting to see if the Gunners splash the cash and nail down Higuain’s signature.
